Linking in with Lou's Nature in the Home series... This week's theme: green. I went and had a look around the florist's shop today as I'm partial to eucalyptus and most grey/blue-toned foliage. But I also love acid and lime greens too, and the euphorbia in the shady bed catches my eye each time I walk past it.
Just one little stem, carefully snipped and handled (apparently it can irritate the skin). I popped it in an old bottle I once used for mixing flower remedies - quite apt really.
It puts some zing into an otherwise gloomy day.
I really love euphorbia (I am trying to grow oblongata from seeds and it's taking ages!). The sap can cause skin irritation though so picking it in gloves and searing it for 30 sec helps.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know. It did seem to seep a lot of white sap - a bit like dandelions. I love euphorbia too, they're a good foil for other plants. Especially if like me, you're a fan of lime green...
DeleteLovely bright colour.
ReplyDeleteI know - they stand out from everything else at the moment and seem to be spreading too:)
ReplyDeleteLove the whole picture, the book is a lovely touch, katie x
ReplyDeleteThanks... it's quite a good read too! There's a flower, it's meaning and a little poem for every day of the year - nice for birthdays :)
Deletelove this so gorgeous x
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI love your pictures - the vibrant green against the deep grey is yummy! I'm a bit scared about euphorbia after a nasty reaction to the sap when I was younger but love the shape and colour... from a distance!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The green's so vivid, I love it too.
DeleteI have the same problem with pine sap - had a severe allergic reaction to it a few years ago and now have to supervise dressing the Christmas tree. So frustrating!
What a pretty little flower, never seen it before! /maria
ReplyDeleteCute aren't they? The brightest green in my garden - I love it!
