So, after my last post, we kept it simple this weekend: family and home. Walks straight from the doorstep. Good food. Lie-ins still elude us but you can't have everything.
I know it's high summer but there are signs of autumn slowly creeping in. The very thought of it excites me. My favourite time of year.
I hope you had a good weekend too.
It sounds as though you had a great weekend Sarah!! The lie ins will come with time I hope, I imagine that small children are not conducive to laying in, but perhaps as they get older! xx
ReplyDeleteWe try to see the positives of lie-ins being (temporarily, I hope) on hold: our weekends are longer and we never have to rush about in the mornings to get anywhere.
DeleteIt's almost a comfort ;)
Nice weekends in and around the home - my favourites. All the best there xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, and a perfect summer weekend. Lie-ins are overrated! CJ xx
ReplyDeleteOh, but just one... just to remember what it feels like!
DeleteBeautiful pictures :). Sounds perfect. I go to bed earlier to get more sleep!
ReplyDeleteI try too but I also love reading and struggle to close a book - particularly if it's a good one!
DeleteWhat a lovely blog you write - I've just found it for the first time. Your pictures are great. Lie-ins are overrated so you aren't missing anything!
ReplyDeleteHello - nice to meet you! I agree about lie-ins. I like to be up and about but sometimes a 9am get-up would be blissful :)
DeleteI love your collages and especially the sheep!
ReplyDeleteThank you! There are only the two sheep in this particular field but they're very friendly and always come trotting over in the hope of receiving a snack.
DeleteSheep are one of my favourite subjects to photograph. I love their faces.
Autumn is my favorite too. I was just saying to my husband that there are signs of it here already too, particularly the berries on our pyracantha hedge. They're starting to go from green to yellow, and by September they'll be bright orange.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect, even without the lie-in. (I know I keep being amazed at what's just beyond our front door). As for autumn, I'm so looking forward to detecting that unmistakable scent in the air.
ReplyDeleteI was in Cornwall this morning with my mother and we always love a good walk around her hilly village in the countryside and we were both saying about all the blackberries ready for the picking...seems so early!...I love Autumn, but i'd like to hold on a bit longer to the summer warmth.
ReplyDeleteLovely blog here and beautiful photographs, kazzy x
Thank you! Nice to meet you :)
DeleteI can't wait to go blackberrying this year. Most are still green but I can't see that lasting for long. I have many recipes planned!
What a lovely weekend. I was in the garden last night and was just thinking there's a sniff of Autumn coming with the changes to the plants. It must be the academic in me getting overexcited by a new 'school year' again! All that notebook and pencil potential! Still I must make the most of the summer!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same - most of my working life thus far has been spent in education or careers so September's always my 'new start' month. I have to admit, I treated myself to a new notebook yesterday. I couldn't resist...
