Happy Easter

We're getting some truly gorgeous weather at the moment... Good Friday started with pancakes for breakfast and a leisurely walk through the fields followed by a picnic in the park.

Other plans:
Cooking lamb for Easter Sunday (and baking a lemon cheesecake for dessert)
Treating ourselves to a meal out later with Joe here
More walks and a visit to Ramsbottom for fruit and veg shopping tomorrow
Trying to get to the end of The Goldfinch - I may have to concede defeat as the library is snapping at my heels
Quite possibly indulging in some chocolate.

I hope the weather's as lovely where you are. Have a nice Easter.

  1. Enjoy your Easter weekend, your plans sound just perfect. The weather is amazing in Glasgow, too, and we'll spend the weekend in the garden. x

  3. Oh, mmm, lemon cheesecake, my favourite. Well one of them, I wouldn't like to rule out any of my other favourites, but I do love lemons a lot. It sounds like you have a lovely Easter lined up, I hope you all have a really good weekend.

    1. Same to you! The cheesecake is chilling in the fridge... can't see it lasting too long!

  4. Happy Easter! Your plans sound much better than ours, which amount to, clear out two bedrooms and the loft! Oh well, at least there will be chocolate!

  6. Happy Easter! Don't feel like I've had a chance to pop over to your internet patch lately - Joe is getting so grown up! Hope your dinner out was lovely - and how are you enjoying The GF? Hope all is good with you x

    1. Hi Helen! We've been a bit busy too... all's well here. The meal was nice (despite us having to shift everything to the edge of the table out of Joe's reach - he likes shiny cutlery).
I've got two days left to read the rest of the GF, and I'm not even halfway through it. Quite how you're expected to read such a mammoth book in a fortnight is beyond me. I'm enjoying it but think I'll have to find a copy to buy... tried a few charity shops yesterday but no luck. Maybe eBay...
      Hope you're having a lovely Easter x

    1. We did indeed! I don't think I've ever made as much of Easter as I have this time around, and I put that down to having Joe... it's all about making happy memories when you have children isn't it?

    2. So true ... we tend to make more of any festivity now that we have little ones ... giving them the gift of special memories and traditions ... Bee xx

  10. Hi Sarah,

Lovely to find your blog from Gillian's recent Post. Your Easter sounds gorgeous. I've heard mixed reviews about The Goldfinch, the main gripe being the length, so I'm sure you're not alone in needing more than the Library's standard 2 weeks :-) Hope you're still enjoying some nice weather, it's getting very chilly down our way.

    1. Hello there! I always like 'meeting' new people so it's nice you came by...
It was hard handing a partially-finished book over (I'm now back on the waiting list, grr) and yes, I was surprised by how massive it is.
The weather has reverted to being cold again. I don't mind that much as I packed my summer clothes away and can't remember where, and I'm quite partial to vests and woolly socks anyway!

  11. Sounds like the makings of a great Easter weekend (especially the chocolate bit). Hope the sewing is coming along. The new scarf looks lovely.

  12. Thank you! And I should be suffering from chocolate fatigue by now, but sadly not!
The sewing is progressing very slowly. It will happen. I will wear that garment if it kills me.

  13. Such a beautiful photograph of you and Joe. I love your scarf!! Hope you had a very happy easter. How were you finding the Goldfinch before the library demanded it back?....

    1. Oh, I was really enjoying it, hence my disappointment at having to let it go! I doubt I'll come across a second hand copy anywhere just yet as it's such a recent book and has now won an award.
But I can't justify buying a brand new one either - that only generally happens if it's a book I'll re-read again and again...
