March brings breezes loud and shrill...

...and kills my hellebores off.

It's been a bit crazy weather-wise over the past few days. Snowing, blowing a gale and sunny all at the same time. The hellebores have gone all limp (as has some of the rhubarb). The latter may recover - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Here are a few things from the house and garden over the past few days. Venturing out isn't something that appeals particularly, although I did have a trip out this morning and will write about it tomorrow. So here we go:

The euphorbia seems to be coping with the weather thus far. I love the colours on this.

The snow's hardly of the feathery-flake variety. It looks more like something you'd fill a beanbag with.

The rhubarb was OK yesterday (when I photographed it) but the bigger stems have since keeled over.

At least the Christmas tree seems happy.

A cheery Greek salad - I ate it whilst watching the snow falling.

Joe doesn't like cauliflower very much but I'll keep trying (mashed with potato and cheese, and he still turned his nose up at it). He's dealing with a Taurean. I will win this battle.

The front of the house gets the morning sun so we always have very defined shadows - fun to photograph.

The kitchen gets very sunny after midday so we get to enjoy the sunset as we eat in the evening. We always eat at the table now. It's called Being Civilised (well, keeping warm actually, but it's nice to sit and eat without staring blindly at the TV).

The bedroom seems to be getting quite nautical of late. And I always bring a few shells back from holidays. The next project is to swap a couple of prints in frames, so we need to choose some photos with a seasidey theme. I will keep you updated.

  1. Beautiful photos, I love the way you've captured the shadows (proof that that 'good camera' of yours really is worth it). Euphorbia's are one of my favourite plants too, mine hasn't starting flowering yet so it's lovely to see yours looking so happy.

    1. I love them too... sorry, I know it looks like I'm sitting here waiting for comments to reply to! I'm actually messing around with my Blogger account and am worried I've opened the floodgates for a load of adverts to appear on here (bites nails).
Thanks for the comment. I hope your garden's coming on. And I hope it warms up soon!
